Best Western Plus Hotel Stellar

Best Western Plus Hotel Stellar sits right in the heart of Sydney's CBD, offering a distinctive blend of heritage character and modern comfort. The property specializes in spacious studio accommodation and multi-bedroom suites, each with in-room kitchenettes — a guest favorite that makes longer stays feel genuinely like home.

General Manager Daniel Rosso knows this hotel inside out. He started his career here over two decades ago as a Guest Services Agent and has since built a team focused on creating warm, memorable experiences for every guest who walks through the door.

“The surge protection feature has given us a fantastic safety net — and unexpectedly helped us plan staff leave around our busiest periods.”

The Challenge

With eight different room types to manage, pricing was a daily grind. Daniel had to carve out at least 90 minutes of uninterrupted focus each day just to keep rates accurate through the Property Management System. A moment's distraction could lead to over- or underpricing a room — a small mistake with real revenue consequences. It was a routine that worked, but barely, and the team knew there had to be a smarter way.

"If focus slipped, it was all too easy to accidentally over- or underprice a room," Daniel recalls. It was time-consuming, error-prone, and simply not sustainable for a GM juggling the full demands of a busy Sydney hotel.

The Trigger

The turning point came at the annual Best Western conference in Brisbane in August 2025. RoomPriceGenie came recommended independently by both the property's Revenue Manager and their PMS representative — a double endorsement that gave Daniel immediate confidence. After reviewing the platform, the decision was straightforward: the capabilities were exactly what Hotel Stellar needed, and the value was clear.

The Solution

The shift to RoomPriceGenie changed how Daniel thinks about pricing day to day. Percentage-based derivation from a reference room made managing eight room types simple, and adjusting rates for specific high-demand dates became quick and intuitive.

An unexpected benefit came through the surge protection feature. Beyond its core pricing function, it gave Daniel visibility into demand peaks—a useful insight for planning and approving staff leave during the property's busiest periods.

The Result

September 2025 – April 2026 (8 months)

Over eight months, Best Western Plus Hotel Stellar delivered a strong rate-led performance. ADR grew by +7.84%, and overall revenue followed with a +7.2% increase — meaningful gains driven entirely by smarter pricing rather than higher occupancy. In fact, occupancy dipped slightly by 0.66% (54 room nights), but that softening barely registered against the rate uplift. It's a clear demonstration of dynamic pricing doing exactly what it should: maximizing revenue per room, not just filling beds.

And the 90 minutes of daily manual pricing? Gone.
