In our Meet the Genies series, we give you the opportunity to get to know the friendly faces that make RoomPriceGenie more than just an algorithm. Today, we introduce Babynke! We are more than happy to have our third dutch team member within RoomPriceGenie. Being a former hotel manager Babynke brings us a lot of experience and wants to help hoteliers worldwide with our software.
Let’s get to know her a little more…
What is your role at RoomPriceGenie and how long have you been with us?
My role is in Business Development, and I have been with RPG since December 1st, 2021.
What is your background?
During my studies I just worked in the events industry, this fast-paced side of the hospitality industry was a lot of fun. After my studies, I was involved with the startup of a hotel in Amsterdam. I became Hotel Manager of the hotel The Unbound. This was a great challenge and showed me a whole different part of the hospitality industry.
What do you think makes the RoomPriceGenie solution unique?
RoomPriceGenie is unique because it´s accessible and applicable for all owners-managers in the hotel industry. The level of knowledge in Revenue Management is not important, everyone can compete with dynamic pricing.
What is something that hotel owners have to deal with that you want to fix?
To get their pricing right every night, all year round. It is very hard for hotel owners to find the time to keep track of everything that happens in the market 365 nights a year.
What’s the coolest thing you are working on right now?
Introducing RoomPriceGenie to the Benelux market. I think it is very cool to hear all the different approaches to Revenue Management that hotel owners/managers have.
What is your favourite and least favourite thing about working in hospitality technology?
My favorite thing is helping hotel owners/managers with a solution that will improve their business activity. Sometimes they are already looking for a solution to their revenue management problem and sometimes it takes a bit more explaining. My least favorite thing is when people are too afraid of change and technology.

If you could write a book about your life, what would the title be and why?
The 9 lives of Babynke.
I have traveled quite a bit and lived abroad a couple of times. Sometimes it feels like all different kinds of lives lived at once.
What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?
Sometime outside, mountainbiking, camping, beach, mountains, some sort of sports. Or inside, drinking and eating.
