Eco Beach Resort

Josh Raines owns the management rights at Eco Beach Resort and is now in his seventh year running it. The 28-room resort offers studios plus one- and two-bedroom apartments in Byron Bay, a small coastal town that gets very busy in peak season.

The Challenge

Pricing took up 10 to 20 hours of Josh's week. He checked competitor rates on Booking.com, planned 12 months ahead around Christmas, New Year and school holidays, and never stopped worrying about missing a key date.

"It was always in the back of my mind. Gotta update your pricing, gotta update your pricing. It's almost like a part-time job."

The Trigger

As a small business, hiring another person to manage pricing wasn't realistic. Josh had heard of RoomPriceGenie through someone else in the industry who used it, and it worked with Resly, his PMS.

Over the last six months, Eco Beach's revenue has run 10–15% ahead of its usual results. Josh has handed pricing over completely and puts that time into the rooms and the guest experience.
