Strictly Business

I joined RoomPriceGenie in May 2022 and have been a part of the recent expansion drive at the firm which sure is a sign of exciting times coming ahead. Currently, I work with the Product Development team as an Intern, with most of my responsibilities concentrated in and around the domain of Data Science and Analytics.
Having grown up studying business since high school and idealising the tech startup revolution of the early 21st century, I have had extensive experience managing my family’s bicycle manufacturing business in India. Sparked with the desire to better understand the connection between the technical and the business worlds, I have been a Data Science Master’s student and have been living in Germany since April 2021. With the explosion in data creation, collection and analysis, in recent times, joining a modern data-driven organisation such as RoomPriceGenie was a no-brainer.
It has got to be the transparency and the overall explainability of the RoomPriceGenie app. At each point in time, one can just simply check out exactly WHY their property’s room pricing is heading in a certain direction and how have their competitors been reacting to the latest market trends.
With an ever increasing competition for smaller hotels in today’s world and a limited time available for decision making, any possible technology that can analytically automate daily tasks, do it exceptionally well and help one save valuable time is a godsend in my opinion.
My single most favorite thing about working in hospitality tech sector must definitely be being able to first-hand witness the digital transformation of small and independently owned hotels on such a large scale worldwide. The least favourite…hmm, its the BUGS. Definitely, the bugs and issues you encounter during development. But, I guess that’s true for any task that involves programming.

Hard Work, Humility and being Real.
“And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make” – Paul McCartney Not a literal advice given to me of course, given its a Beatles song lyric. But, it surely is something that has resonated with me a lot. So, have an open mind, let your guards down, spread love and give peace a chance.
I heard you don’t ride bikes anymore. Possibly, my story of leaving India as a guy in his 20’s and starting a new chapter of life in Germany with quirky tales of culture shocks, language learning and constant exploration of European cities.
Mostly chilling around in a nightclub thumping on to German Techno music or repeatedly binging some Martin Scorsese classics one after the other.
