Strictly Business

I started as a Business Development Intern in August 2021 and since November 2021 I got a full-time position as Business Development Representative for RoomPriceGenie. I’m taking care of everything in the world of marketing, LinkedIn, our website, sales and last but not least the best possible atmosphere in our beautiful office in Mannheim.
Not even a kilometer away from our German office, I have spent the last four years studying media and communication sciences with a minor in economics at the beautiful university in Mannheim. While studying I was also part of the student radio in Mannheim and I enjoy my holidays traveling as a ski instructor.
Its simplicity. You don’t need a master’s degree to understand that dynamic pricing is inevitable to survive in the competitive hotel market nowadays. But you need a master’s degree to do it by hand or with the difficult solutions for revenue management out there. Not anymore. And for me that’s the real value of our solution.
Seeing pricing as a struggle or even worse: as unnecessary.
My favorite thing: definitely the people. Having the pleasure of talking to so many hotel owners and feeling the warmth and their desire to deliver a perfect experience for their guests is incredible to see. My least favorite thing is the feeling of not being able to convince some of them that dynamic pricing is useful. I feel bad for them not seeing the added value and probably being in trouble because of their price structure some years later – especially small hotels who are all about hospitality but don’t like the pricing aspect about it. These are the hotels we need to help survive worldwide.

How to survive as the youngest. No matter if it was in school, in university, at my exchange semester or now at work. I’ve always been the youngest one around and my book will give everyone the best tips on how to not only survive that but also enjoy this position. And yes, I’m really born in 2000. By the way: Can someone tell me when that time in life ends and if I should look forward to it?
